LIVE COVERAGE FROM THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION

“Obama emphasized the value of hard work and equal opportunity for all with the same rules for all economic classes. I could see that he really believed in what he was saying. I liked his words, but Joe Biden had that “fire-and-brimstone” preacher style going and so did Bill Clinton. Obama could learn a thing or two from them, but he was still smiling and showed his emotions while he spoke. Obama will never be an orator like Bill Clinton, but his words still rang true. The audience ate it all up and I saw them really attuned to his speech. Obama stressed that he will tell the truth and never promised it will be easy. I like a leader who does not mince words, preferring to be direct with voters. I also liked that he was not shy about asking for Americans’ support for his second term. He did not own up to his addition of $ 6 trillion to the national debt. I want more American jobs made possible from "Made in the USA" which made an impression on me.”

“Obama mentioned many accomplishments which convinced me to vote for him and not Romney. I cannot imagine a President Romney in the Oval Office anymore after this convention. Obama was very specific about what he wants to accomplish in his second term and what he proposes does sound doable. However, I worry about the Republican Congress vowing to block him at every turn. To me, that is totally irresponsible of them. As a former high school teacher, his words about educational reform touched me deeply. I strongly believe in every child’s right to the best possible education, not Romney’s “the best a child can afford.” As a current community college professor, I was excited to see Obama talk about colleges and universities for our young people so they can be successful in the working world.
